Information We Collect
We collect only what a home inspection business genuinely needs.
- Contact details: your name, phone number, and email address, from the contact form, your calls, or your emails to us.
- Property details: the address of the home being inspected, access notes, and anything you tell us about the problem, such as leaks or past water damage.
- Inspection records: notes, moisture readings, photographs, samples, lab results, and the written report itself.
- Billing records: the details needed to invoice you for an inspection and keep normal business accounts.
- Website basics: like almost every website, our hosting and site tools record standard technical details such as the pages visited, the time of the visit, and the type of device and browser used.
How We Use Your Information
- To answer your questions and reply to your messages
- To schedule, carry out, and document your inspection
- To prepare and send your written report and any lab results
- To invoice you and keep the business records the law expects
- To follow up about your own inspection when something is still open
That is the whole list. If we ever need your information for something else, we will ask you first.
What We Never Do
We never sell your personal information, and we never rent it or hand it to another company for their marketing. We do not add you to mailing lists, and we do not send newsletters or promotional emails. If you hear from us, it is about your inquiry or your inspection.
Cookies and This Website
This site uses the basic cookies a WordPress website needs to work properly, and standard tools may use cookies to count visits and see which pages people read. The map on our Contact page is provided by Google Maps, and Google may set its own cookies and collect usage data when that map loads, under Google’s own privacy policy. When We Have to Share Information
Almost never, and only in these cases:
- Samples taken during an inspection go to a laboratory for analysis, identified by the property, so the lab can return results.
- If the law requires it, for example a court order, we provide what is required.
- With your clear permission, for example if you ask us to send your report to your landlord, your agent, or another inspector.
Outside of that, your information stays with us.
How Long We Keep Information
Inspection reports and billing records are kept as business records for as long as they are reasonably needed, including for legal and insurance purposes. Messages that never became an inspection are not kept longer than they need to be. If you want your contact details removed from our records, ask us and we will delete what we are not required to keep.
Your California Privacy Rights
Because we are a California business, you can ask us at any time to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct anything that is wrong, or to delete it where the law allows. You will never be treated worse, charged more, or refused service for asking. Keeping Your Information Safe
Your details are only seen by the people working on your inspection, and we take reasonable care with the devices and accounts we use to store them. No business can promise perfect security, and we do not pretend otherwise, but we treat your information the way we would want ours treated.
Children
Our services are for property owners, tenants, buyers, and sellers, and this website is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page and the date at the top will be updated. Changes take effect when they are posted here.
